The Department was established in the 2005. Department offers three Subjects: Biotechnology (Honours), Biotechnology (Elective) and Microbiology (Elective). Biotechnology (Elective) and Microbiology (Elective) has various Subject Combination in Bachelor of Science.
Outcomes of UG Course:
After completion of degree:
- • Acquiring through knowledge through theory and practical.
- • Developing a deep rooted foundation at cellular, molecular, genetic and metabolic level.
- • Making the agricultural practices easier through Plant tissue culture and Recombinant
- • DNA technology.
- • Knowledge of Bimolecular, their formation and interaction.
- • Studying about Micro organisms, strain improvement for industrial applications.
- • Inculcating good laboratory practices and safety.
- • Learning various techniques and handling of laboratory instruments.
- • They can work in various work environments like industrial sector, environmental sector, Medical sector, food manufacturing, health-care and pharmaceuticals. Students interested higher education can go for the masters level in biotech after their under Graduation. Students interested in research and development can continue their studies by pursuing their Ph.D degrees in biotechnology and related fields.

ABOUT US
The Department was established in the 1953. The Department is engaged in teaching Botany to Master of Science in Chemistry also.
Outcome of UG courses
After completion of Degree
- • Students get knowledge and understanding of plant diversity, their evaluation, classification, statistical data, functions and role of the plants.
- • Pupils will develop their intellectual skills and they will able to think logically and organize task into structured form.
- • Students will get practical skills and will able to do practical work in the field and laboratory too.
- • Students will get knowledge of transferable skills. They will able to use of IT skills, scientific ideas in writing and orally, library resources and time management.
- • Students will have scientific knowledge of basic sciences, life sciences and fundamental processes of the plants.
- • Students will have an idea of design and development of solutions.
- • They can also get knowledge of analysis of the problems regarding taxonomic position of the plants, formulation of the research literature and analysis of non reported plants with substantiated conclusions using methods of nomenclature and classification in Botany.

- • The Undergraduate Physics course will be covering Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Waves, Vibrations and Optics, Statistical Mechanics and Thermodynamics, Electronics, Quantum Mechanics, Solid State Physics, Electro Magnetic Theory, Nuclear and Particle Physics.
- • In most of these courses they will have hands-on experiences on different experiments based on the theories they have learnt.
- • Also, they will be learning Computational methods using programs in C and C++ languages.

- • Students gain a sound education in basic life sciences.
- • Students gain theoretical as well as practical knowledge laboratory in the areas of Taxonomy, Physiology, Ecology, Cell biology, Genetics, Embryology, Applied Zoology, tools and techniques of Zoology, Toxicology, Entomology, Biochemistry and Evolution.
